It's a new adventure; a new start, and I think things are going to work out wonderfully. I know you will miss Leicester, but who's to say you can't move back someday with a better job, a better financial situation, and easier ways to visit your family.
Kudos to your friend for seeing in you all your great qualities, which you continually show to us fellow Cellarites.
