That reminds me of a student I had to deal with once upon a time at my place of employment. We had a couple of run-ins because she was from a foreign country and felt we were overcharging her for phone calls home. (There's no denying that the billing system--which I had inherited--that we had at the time was a piece of shit, and that our overseas rates were not competitive. But we were fairly upfront about costs and people were free to use it or get a prepaid calling card, which was usually much cheaper.)
But that doesn't explain her insistence that we were bugging her phone line--she knew this because of the way the calls sounded--so we could find out what her travel plans were and follow her home. She had a telephone expert who she was going to bring in to take apart our telephone system and prove that she was being bugged.
