The longer the better. Frankly if a message isn't a few paragraphs long, I feel it doesn't have anything to say and I skip it.

Modern communication sends millions of characters over the lines per second. So I prefer it when writers of posts employ words in such a way that they can write sentence after sentence, going on and on and on with needlessly flowery and/or empty language, and still after all of that, fail to really communicate anything whatsoever which is the whole point when you think about it.

But if a message is BOTH long AND well-written, I'm intimidated by it! So I only read long posts by poor writers.
