I remember the news stories about it. It seemed at the time that it was much ado about nothing, but I was disappointed in the democrats that pulled the prank, because it was pretty juvenile

That part of the story is one that I never heard. Can you point to some references on this? Who discovered this? Or was it just conjecture at the time?
