We play "Oh Hell". It's considerably different from what you describe. Our game is a bidding game. It does easily accommodate 3, 4, or 5 players. You start by dealing a hand of one, then a hand of two, three, etc. With ... nevermind. Here's a link to a very

You earn points by winning precisely the number of tricks you bid. The game rewards careful precise play, and penalizes sandbagging. The fun begins when someone discovers that they're not gonna make their bid, and then decides to miss by a large margin, taking the others down with him. Or, when the number of tricks bid is different from the number of cards in the hand. You know somebody's lying then. A very fun game.
