You have just defined the essence of the problem. UT's dilemma.
We Cellar Dwellars have one option that UT does not have: the ignore switch. I put the dingbat on my ignore list after her last self-centered, passive-aggressive maelstrom and found a way to enjoy the Cellar without her annoying presence. Ironically, UT - as the board admin - does not have that option so he is forced to confront and be confronted by whatever she posts. He cannot "look the other way" or pretend not to see it. He
has to look at it. All of it.
Secondly, UT chooses not to ban her. Why? He'll have to answer that but my theory after hanging out here for a couple years is that he puts her right to post (on
his board) above his own right not to be offended or deliberately tormented by someone posting on
his board.
That's the kind of person UT is. That's the kind of person who just got ran off of his own board. And just as soon as he left, she left. Why? I'll leave that question for the reader to answer. I think I already know.
Now, with the board in shambles, even
our ignore button doesn't work. Now we know what UT feels like. No. We don't. Only if this were our house would we.
I don't expect everyone to appreciate or understand my visceral summation of Marichiko. I also don't expect that everyone will understand exactly what just happened. It is sufficient to know that UT feels like he can't even enjoy what he himself has created - one of the finest meeting places on the entire internet. And that, moreso even than the smoldering ruin Marichiko has reduced this place to - albeit temporarily - is the real tragedy here.
If she has even one sliver of respect for UT or for the latitude she was granted before he reached the limits of human endurance, she will never darken the door of this fine establishment again. Ever.
