I used to think so, too. I have since found that they can be used to cook some things, however I would never cook meat in the m'wave. I remember my mother's first m'wave cooking attempts that were the consistency of rubber. Ugh.

The fingernail crack horribly embarassed me. I have had to make excuses (lie)to Hubby so he would not want to come and look at this thread. He would be mortified. He actually did comment to me about his fingernails as I was posting and it was me who told him to just shine it, it wasn't that important...but I think it was and I wish now I had changed the photos I used.
Still, the m'wave fried egg sandwich is delicious, nutritious and SAFE for children to make without allowing them near the elec/gas stove.
