Actually, Glendenning wasn't unseated really. Term limits mandated that he stepped down after two 4-year terms (which, disappointingly enough, he won comfortably each time). If anything, it would be more accurate to say that Erlich upset Kennedy-Townsend (which, in my book, is a Good Thing™).
