And you thought you had a bad day. According to
this BBC story, Roy was repairing high-voltage wires when he suffered a massive shock and electrical burn. His scalp was so heavily burnt that it had no blood supply, and so it slowly decayed and fell off.
Well it sure looks like his skull bone, but maybe not. An Indian doctor says it is, thinking that maybe "the
skull's inner covering and the membrane which helps produce bone were 'miraculously unaffected', allowing fresh bone to grow." The alternate theory is that the "hard outer portion of the scalp came off" and "If the skull itself came off with the brain of the patient being exposed, the patient wouldn't have survived." Whichever explanation is right, the guy has to consider himself extremely lucky and he is busy basking in the excitement.
