I do remember hearing such reports back then...there were plenty of atrocity stories with no good way to confirm most of them.
The connection of this rather large red herring to whatver evidence Bush has about Iraqui WMDis way beyond tenuous, though. I suppose we're being prepped for "it's all lies", even before we even have any details about what the "lies" are. We've been though this dance before, under the heading of "How do you know it's was really alQueda?".
