Religion should not be confused with honest spirituality and sincere relationship with God. Religion is the mass tool used for control. Always has been, always will be. My viewpoint is that no one is going to tell me how to vote, or "punish" me if I break some surruptitious rule. That's God's job. My relationship with Him is no one else's business. If you want to sway my vote, lay down the facts and candidate voting records and I will determine who I want to represent me.

I believe in the separation of church and state, insofar as it prevents a monopoly on religious bullying. I don't think the "separation of church and state" means that you can't be a spiritual person and run a country/state/county/city, or that we need to pull down 10 commandments from courthouses. But I definitely see a problem with "big R" Religion in this country. Whack jobs like Robertson need to re-evaluate their Jesus-like qualities (or lack thereof).
