I generally listen to my discman or Rho's tv-radio walkman. Sometimes, I'll buy a newspaper and read it, or else I'll read Metro, the free commuter newspaper. I think I'm going to hit the library this weekend for a few books.
(I don't care what anybody says. Metro rules...takes all the top stories and puts it into little blurbs. Enough info to get you through the day...and it's free.)
I like looking out the window too...the El winds its way through several old (and decrepit) neighborhoods. When I can, I like to sit in the very first car in the very first row...it gives me the same point of view as the train operator...I can see the signals change color and see the turns of the track.
I'd love to work near home. We have a lot of office parks in the area (within 10-15 minutes), but nothing's biting right now. And I really don't want to move...as a whole, we like where we live b/c it has everything we need...and we love our apartment and its amenities.
