Your picture probably exceeded the size limit ... delete it from the CP, resize the copy you have on your computer so it's within the limit, and try again ... should be under 100K or so.
As an alternative, you can remotely host images and link to them using the "image tags". There's a helper tool in the WYSIWYG editor to do this until you get the hang of the syntax.
