It's a what? It's a "river hog". What an endearing name. This shot has been hanging around waiting for the right Friday, and this is as much a Friday as any. The official caption:
A 2-week-old red river hog checks in with it's father, Tarzan, Wednesday, May 8, 2002, at the Diego Zoo. The zoo cares for 11 red river hogs, which are at risk of becoming endangered in their native Africa, and the the zoo is responsible for the first successful breeding of the species in the Western Hemisphere, which took place in 1995.
