Well I did see holy grail murals in the Boston library... The place I stayed was perfect for me, The Encore B&B, in a South End row house. Highly recommended as an alternative to soul-less corporate hotels and frilly B&Bs. Cool decor, historic architecture, safe walking to all the stuff I wanted.

Highlights: Alfred Brendel playing Mozart with James Levine and the Boston symphony, Great food, the best coffee of my life at Cafe Vittoria and Italian sweet treats in the North end, and the wonderful strange beauty of the Gardener Museum. (get in free if your name is Isabella). I wanna go back during baseball season! Now I know where to stay. I had a great salad and raspberry lime rickey at the Other Side, so thanks for that tip- and yes they were hip, but nothing is hipper than a hungry old bat with sore feet! And I also really liked a cafe called the Garden of Eden- great soup and sandwiches, right by my digs.

Didnt get to MIT...just have to go back!
