I just finished processing the 32 $1 CD's I ordered from
Overstock.com. 3 of these are baby gifts for a friend, so the remaining 29 are for my own collection.
I consider $7.50 to be a fair price for a CD, and that is pretty much what I would buy one for used, so 4 'keepers' is my break even point. The great thing about $1 CD's is that you can experiment with very little outlay and take some chances.
Here are some of my results. I'm going to rate everything from 0 thru 5, 5 being great.
Cheap Trick - Cheap Trick (1997)
I remember when Cheap Trick was the hot band on the list. This is a nice collection of their songs, although not their greatest hits. Nice drive down memory lane. 4 stars
Maureen McCormick - When You Get A Little Lonely
"Marcia Brady Sings!". Ok, this was a curiosity buy. It's a vanilla country album. She has a pleasant, if uninspired voice. 2 stars + 1/2 star for novelty (It's Marcia!)
Road Kings - Live At The Satellite Lounge
I had a lot of fun with this album. Sort of Pop meets Rockabilly, somewhere between the Stray Cats and the Fabulous Thunderbirds. 4 stars
Well, 3 down and 26 to go.
