That's my main beef with the movies. Not only did he make Gimli a joke, but it's based on present day references (ie dwarf tossing).
New scenes I liked:
Eowyn's Dream
Faramir/Denethor/Boromir
Eomer finds Eowyn
I'm not sure about the "Mouth of Sauron" scene. I'm glad it was there, but the Mouth was supposed to be human.
