I bought the word "blog" on Google, just to see how their system worked and what kind of response rate I'd get. So far it's cost me $3.33 for 57 clickthroughs on 7765 impressions.
So, Mel, getting you here cost me $3.33. I can either send you an invoice, or I could set up a paypal link for you... your choice.

Well, HELL. I just tried the search, and voila -- there was the link. What'll they think of next? (I didn't click on it -- those clicks cost money, yo.)
What will they do when there are more than five people who bought that word (i.e. more than one page's worth)? Can they end up with more sponsored links than actual links in many cases?
And how discriminatory are they? Can you buy the word "Microsoft" and link it to goatse.cx?
