Tomorrow is a work day. I will arrive at work at about 8:30 am and leave when our job is done, probably around 7:30 if there are no problems.

I do not get paid extra for this, it is considered part of the job. I do get free food. These weekend system conversions only occur about every 3 months on average.

As lead technician I am considered indispensible on this project so if I do get sick I go in anyway (hasn't happened yet).

My department is pretty good in that if you have a vacation scheduled before you start working on a project and it happens to conflict, and you are not the project or tech lead, your presence is not required.

The good news is that adrenaline means time moves pretty fast and most of our conversions are done out of the home office.

My longest conversion was an onsite install in California. Jet lag topped off with a 23 hour conversion. Four week long trips out and I had maybe 10 total hours outside of work or my hotel room. We did eat at some nice restaurants, if you don't mind having dinner at 9pm.
