I don’t know if it applies here, but whenever I see a movie that’s based on a book or story I’ve read, I’m disappointed. Written work allows me to fill in the blanks and the movie never does it the way (as well as?) I do. Maybe if I’d read a Cliff's notes outline, but not the book.
