It's good for more basic and web stuff but no good for anything more serious than that, it lacks a lot of the high end stuff and support needed for any kind of print work. Colour management and file size limitations are the two biggies. I've got pre-press stuff in the gigs, I think the GIMP still chokes above a few meg.
