If you needed a reason to avoid IE besides the poor standards support and lack of pop-up blocking and tabbed browsing, here's another... some security holes have been found in IE which are so dangerous that the US Dept. of Homeland Security has recommended that IE not be used at all.
Reportedly, Mozilla and Firefox downloads have
more than doubled as a result. It looks like this may just let these superior open-source alternatives get a foot in the door.
Indeed, monopolies breed stagnation, as IE's pitiful security demonstrates. Does IE do
anything better than the current alternatives?
