They truly are very clean stitches, he did a nice job. But I have to admit I'm so incredibly skeptical when I hear that a doctor is the best (usually it's "one of the best in the country" or "best in the state") because the referring doctor/hospital/whatever has every reason to lie to you--first off, you're not going to know, and second, you likely don't have a choice so it's better to just feel good about your fate.

When my father-in-law had a brain tumor, three different nurses went out of their way to reassure us that the surgeon he'd been assigned to was "the best in the state." C'mon--the best neurosurgeon in all of Texas is working at a mid-tier hospital in suburban Fort Worth? No he fucking isn't. But it made my mother-in-law happy, because it was what she wanted to hear. So, okay.
