If we take away tw's attempts to provoke an emotional response, you can whittle him down to basically a good government type. The main socialist I see making political inroads nationally is AOC. She seems successful as a reaction to Tea Party politics at the Federal level which has exposed individuals to predation by connected people and corporations. If we get extreme right wing politics we are rewarded with extreme left wing politics.
We are at a difficult moment in history, AI and automation are poised to put everybody out of a job while the right chews on the social safety net and wealth accumulates among the few. Some espouse extreme liberty and some extreme equality, I'm looking for an answer between the poles but acknowledge the the right wingers blew it by over-playing their hand.
