The Pier was opened in 1904 and was a Victorian/Edwardian Music/Concert Hall which also hosted boxing and wrestling matches etc, and the pavilion part was only a section of the mile long boardwalk...

Sadly, the rain came too late to help and all of the pavilion is lost. The underlying metal structure though is apparantly ok, and hopefully in good enough shape to be built on. What didn't help...
