Is the War on Terror back on now?

It appears that we're taking some time off from our other aspirations to fight the WOT.

DAMADOLA, Pakistan - An airstrike on a Pakistani village near the Afghan border targeted Osama bin Laden's right-hand man, Pakistani officials said Saturday. They said efforts were under way to determine if the elusive Ayman al-Zawahri or any other terror suspects were among at least 17 people killed.

We probably ought to rename the War on Terror to the War on Osama's Right Hand Men. We seem to take them out contantly.

Maybe on the Cheney theory that they are the real brains of the operation. After all, who would know better?

If bin Laden has so many right hand men, does that mean he is really a cave dwelling Republican? So maybe it's really not a war. Only more infighting between Republicans, again, paid for by our tax dollars. They do know how to spend what they don't have - in caves and in the caves of Capitol Hill.

The problem is that Bin Laden is actually left handed.

Happy Monkey 01-14-2006 11:40 PM

Sucks to be a left handed Arab. Maybe that's why he's so pissed off.

Well, they didn't get any "right hand men" but those 18 civilian casualties should yield a couple hundred new terrorists. Job security? :eyebrow:

Imagine a WOT with international support and boots on the ground doing the killing and verifying who gets killed. Instead we get the same push button war Clinton is criticized for while soldiers lives are wasted in ways that make America less safe. :rar:

Urbane Guerrilla 01-16-2006 08:35 PM

Was someone actually thinking the WOT was switched off?? Come on, this, like any war, is a struggle of the secrets! This particular war is even more heavily affected than most by which side is better at being secretive. It's all SpecWar, really, and spec-ops are always sub rosa.
