The gent's name is Othman Awang; he's in the northern Malaysian village of Kepala Bukit; and he's rescuing his pet cat and pet duck from floodwaters, in this fine Reuters image via WaPo.

Okay, you have a cat, a goose, and a pail of feed. You want to cross the river... I've heard this story somewhere before.

I love the look on that guys face. Something is going right on a day when things were looking pretty bleak.

I'm amazed at the cat putting up with that, even it it is for his own good.

Since when does a duck need rescuing from water?

Duck, goose...whatever, the dude clearly is enamored of it. It's true man-duck (or, possibly man-goose) love. Good for him!

That explains why the flu experts are so worried about ducks being the link to humans. :eyebrow:

looks to me that he's more concerned about not having his eyes pecked out. if you knew gooses like I know geese...

That's an African goose and he's having an entertaining time trying to dodge the nip that goose is trying to deliver to relieve its ire over having a cat in its bucket of feed.

How can we be sure they are his pets, people in that part of the world eat ducks and geese pretty regularly... no comment on the cat... :eyebrow:

I see the bukit, is the kepala what the guy is wearing on his head?

I know geese like you know gooses and this raghead's about to get "goosed". Them's some mean sumbitches. I mean the geeses. The cat just wants to stay the hell outa the water. :lol:
