1/22 Extra: Pitney Bowes Ad (~70k)

Okay. So I got my mail today, and what do I have? A statement from my credit union and a mail from Pitney Bowes. Yes, the postage meter assholes. It says, on the envelope:

Time Sensitive Documents For:

*****************************AUTO** 5-DIGIT 22030
David Ham
Hamdavid
XXXX Myroad Dr
Fairfax, VA 22030-2002

Ah. You know, David Ham of Hamdavid, Inc. Great. I think I reg'd a domain under that or something. Whatever.

So I open it up, just for the hell of it. Here's what I'm greeted with (cropped):

Mighty friendly with the carriage returns, eh? Is that supposed to be a fucking poem?

I'd like to show you
the bottom of my foot
up close on your face
but that is "assault".

I'll make it a point to never, ever purchase anything from Pitney Bowes.

we had a pitney bowes meter at U.S.A. when i worked there. yeah, their service sucked and the meters had a habit of breaking, but it was fun to be able to push envelopes through one after the other. and without even having to put stamps on them. it saved a lot of time.

Yeah and I gotten mail for Macollig Juztfahted ( say it aloud a few times) because I chose that as a name on a web form. I also got credit card apps and a membership card to some American Golf Association under my Dog's name; the origin was setting up a juno email account. These were all un-asked. There are quite a few others I can tell...

I hate direct mail marketers....Bitching won't solve things but data corruption does. A worthless list is a worthless list..mwahahaha

"Joe Doe"

I know the feeling. I get a bunch of mail for "Joe Doe". The funny part was that the post office for some reason wants to know who all lives at my house: they've sent me the form to "register" with them a couple of times, I keep throwing it out. On the first piece of mail I got for Mr. Doe, they stuck a bright orange sticker on it saying "does this person live here? let us know so we can more effectively direct your mail."

Just leave me alone and deliver the stinkin' mail... or don't. If it is for Joe, I don't really want it. He don't live here no more. ;)

Well, a tanka, which is like a haiku, is five lines with 5/7/5/7/7 syllables. Both 'poems' almost qualify.
