I still find it funny that they want to sell me oil from my land (ANWAR is owned by every US citizen). I'm almost tempted to let them drill there, if they will post a 100 billion dollar bond guaranteeing that they would put it back the way they found it when the oil runs out.
After 50 years of toxic waste sites and brown fields, noone believes that corporations can operate with low environmental impact. Certainly noone expects this adminstration to enforce any such agreement. |
Having been to the North Slope, I'd say if they walked away from that one with out doing a thing, it would have no real impact on the area. The footprint of the oil operations there is tiny plus they haven't sullied far and wide either. :neutral:
