I don't know diddly squat about A or B. Well, or C either, but fine. Tell us about your favorite whiskey.

I'm currently working on a bottle of Balvenie 15 year that is one of my favorites. :yum:

I'm not a gentleman, but I do have a Master's Degree and am very fond of Glenmorangie.

I thought The Macallan, which cost twice as much tasted like puke. I suppose that's peaty-ness.

Edit to note ... WHOO HOOO 10010 posts.

(I didn't even notice I passed 10K.)

I used to drink whiskey when I was a teenager. It made me feel like I'd been hit square in the forehead by a Mack truck. Gaddawful stuff.

Cheap whiskey.

Good whiskey should make you feel like you've been hit square in the forehead by a Bentley or a Rolls.

To quote a young lady from the clarinet section of the orchestra I play in, when some of us were having a discussion about various kinds of booze, "Scotch tastes like ass!"

BigV 09-20-2005 04:58 PM

Did you ask her: "How do you know?"

SteveDallas 09-20-2005 06:21 PM

Of course--who could resist a straight line like that? Certainly not me.

beautiful! talk about knowing your crowd ....

For whiskey, among the more reasonable brands, I've been pretty find of Maker's Mark. I've never cultivated the kind of taste that can appreciate an $80 difference in a bottle, so I've never bothered with the more expensive stuff.
