Airshow

Finally I invested in a digital camera. Now to learn how to take pictures. NBN, I need lessons!

Lesson one, where oh where is the resize picture button?

It's here somewhere....

I'll find it later and post a few pics

darnit...I just saw it in one of these myriad menus...

Grumble

You should download IrfanView. :)

Please allow me to give a testimonial for Picassa, version 2. Free, all the basic tweaks a snapshot taker like me ever uses, um, free, wait, I said that, and from Google. For me that's a good thing, and not because I have any Google stock (too damn bad too.) Anyway, they produce (buy/offer) excellent products, and when the camera starts to generate a critical mass of pictures, and it will, Picassa can help you organize/search/sort those objects like no one else can. Google's the king of that sort of magic.

And for crying out loud, it's free. Try it out, and if you don't like it, hell, I'll give you double your money back.

Photoshop. I don't want my pictures floating around the ether somewhere....I want them right here on my hard drive where I can crash them good. :mg:

Does Picasa resize an image without confusing a simpleton like me?

Bullitt 06-21-2005 07:19 PM

i use photobucket to host my images online, and they automatically resize images to fit their 250k size limit per image. once you upload a picture, you can easily shrink it down to 75%, 50%, or 25% of the origional. my camera is set to take pretty big pictures, so i just resize them by 75% twice, and they're perfect for posting on threads and forums.

just my two cents :2cents:

All right, let's test this

A P-51D Mustang

Good. Picasa isn't the best thing I've seen, but IrfanView does the job just fine. I just need to select the pictures I want to share and shrink them down.

Then I test the macro lens and see how that turns out. Maybe I can post a few close up pics for all to laugh at.

Do you have another shot of the P-51? They are too beautiful.

Bullitt 06-21-2005 11:05 PM

There was an air show round here last weekend and i was so mad i couldn't go.. they had an a-10 stunt group, a pb-y, couple mustangs and the flying fortress made its appearance.. man that thing sounds beautiful, i heard it fly around my neighborhood a couple times... :rattat:

Pair of A-10s flew over head today at about noon, at low altitude, headed SW towards D.C. I figured either we were newly at war or there was an airshow around somewhere.

There was an airshow last weekend in Reading. I missed it due to a BBQ in Richmond.

These pics are from last years airshow in Reading. I don't get around to developing my films much. I have pics from three years ago in the batch. Yes, there are some more of the P51 as well as other beautiful examples of WWII flying machines. I posted the pics of the P38 above my bed.

Tomorrow I will get into the mess of pics and organise them and post a few select ones for all to enjoy.

I haven't been to an airshow in probably 5 years. something always comes up. pisses me off too. i think the last one i actually saw was in galveston while i was on a fishing pier. i did go buy a disposable camera but it didn't do the planes justice. there was 1 mustang, an F-16, a B-17, the Yak i flew in as well as a couple more, and some t-38's that come to mind.....

I like this program for resizing by batch. Free.http://bluefive.pair.com/pixresizer.htm

A-10, number one favorite airplane!

PB-Y, number two.

P-51 mustangs, untouchable cool factor.

Sorry I missed the show. Now I got a hankerin for some plane time. I need to get down to the Museum of Flight. They have a wonderful collection, including a Concorde. The Concorde is a tiny plane in person compared to my imagination from all the years of seeing it on tv and in the movies.
