$350 million per pilot
Can you justify a plane that can only fight 'plane to plane' and cannot even do what the A-10, F-15 & F-16 do? 380 planes at something under $350 million per plane. What happens when those who advocate war dominate the economy? A rather good look at the details.
Military Jet Faces A Fight to Fit In Let's not forget a whole another series of planes that does these things must be built - Joint Strike Fighter. Many saw the JSF 'fly off' between Boeing and Northrup Grumman on PBS. Do we pay twice? Associated Video |
Wharever they decide I'd still like to see them build some A-10s, or at least rebuild the few they have left. For armored vehicle killing and ground support, helicopters are too damn fragile.
