Price of oil
It seems strange to me that oil is so high, but Baker-hughes rig count only shows 192 rigs drilling for oil the last of Feb. N. America only. 1083 were drilling for gas.
I remember when the oil & gas co's. gave the fluid that was in pipelines to transmission cos. because they didn't want to pay the price for the process to remove the condensate. They drilled through oil to get gas. IOW they gave the oil away. Gas BTW is not regulated, so therefore thats the reason they drill for gas. IMHO. :3_eyes: bb |
Do the Gas companies at the other end of the pipe have the facilities to handle the oil that comes through, Buster? Wouldn't they have to move it to a refinery?
Paid $1.99 for home heating oil this week. :( |
Yes. They have the separators for that, and they get an amount enought to pay for the facilities or they wouldn't do it. The fluid goes in another line to who ever wants to buy.
In years gone by. When you contracted to build a process unit for offshore, you bid by the pound. Once it was about 23 cents Lb. BTW gas has no smell. They add an oderant(sp). Once here for Hallowneen we turned over a 55 gal. drum of that shit. Folks downwind called for days about a gas leak |
I imagine it attracted every fly for miles, too.
