3/2/2005: Topless aboriginals greet Prince Charles

http://cellar.org/2004/toplesswithcharles.jpg

Charles is on a tour of the outback of Australia, and was greeted there by traditional topless dancers. It occurs to me that this is another take on the breastfeeding theme that has been IotD since the Chavez pic last week and yesterday's suckling monkey.

Ok, can someone tell me where his eyes are looking?

Griff 03-02-2005 08:03 PM

I'm still scratching for a wise comment involving Camilla...

Why is this picture any more shocking than another with Charles sitting next to Camilla wearing a skirt? More silly sexual stereotypes based upon (gasp!) religious bias. It’s a tit. So what? He wears a skirt. Who cares?

Some are so aghast. That bias is what makes this picture relevant. Oh my god! A wardrobe malfunction! FCC fines the Cellar. What next? Woman exposes herself for some beads in New Orleans. How sinful.

Gosh, it's a National Geographic moment. :king:

At her eyes, which is normal for a conversation.

This isn't the first time Charley (or the queen, or other royals) has met people in traditional dress or traditional undress. To me this just isn't news.

What I do find incongruous is that the white guy's mom (who lives on the other side of the planet!) is the black women's head of state.

OMG--tw made total f****** sense! AND wasn't tedious about it!!!!!
The world as I know it continually evolves...and rightly so.

To think, as a youngster I used to live for pictures like this in NG. ;)

Shunned?

Oddly still, why are women in America shunned for exposing a breast, even if it is a drunken act or feeding of a child.. baffles me how intriguing our country has become..

*sigh*

Maybe it's because our country was founded by a bunch of puritanical, permanently uptight, sexually repressed, sticks in the mud. A tradition continued to this day by religious conservatives (to whom POTUS is beholden) and the FCC.

I'd much rather the U.S. had been a country founded as a prison colony like Australia. We'd have a lot more fun.

Clodfobble 03-03-2005 10:24 AM

Well, Georgia was at least.

That's not entirely true. The Puritans thought that sex was necessary under the Bible. So they had a lot of it.

It takes a visual comparison like this to make him appreciate Camilla after Diana.
