Wouldn't this just make you cry
So yesterday afternoon this guy I work with walks up to another colleague of mine, pulls a wad of $100 bills from his pocket and says, very nonchalantly, "Oh by the way, here's your share". The wad was over $1100. This guy turns white and says "wtf?" (literally).
For the last two years, they both played 1 number each in a 2-person lottery pool, unbeknownst to the rest of us, and for this Saturday's draw, 1 series of numbers was ONE NUMBER AWAY from the jackpot of $9,000,000. CAN you imagine...I think I would throw up on the spot. They ended up winning over $2200 (over 130 tickets were the same- over $315,000 total), which is better than a bag over the head and a punch in the face, I guess. I just had to share this- I am still freaking out. |
I always cry when someone hands me $1100. Here, why don't you bring a stack of hundreds over to my house and I'll show you real tears.
I'm just as happy to count what I have than what I just missed. |
Well-said. Don't get me wrong, I would dance a jig and be grateful if someone gave me $11 let alone $1100 ($1134 to be exact). It is just scary to think that these guys have been doing this for two years and never won more than $10 or so...then they come one number away from being able to knee my boss where it hurts and dance away madly...

Is that $11usd or $11can, and do we get to see a video of it?

$$CDN. The exchange is currently what, 15-20%?
Oh and BTW in Canada they can't pay you $15 per week for the next 4300 weeks- it's a lump sum of $9,000,000 in the form of one cheque. AND Canadians are not taxed on the winnings, only on any interest if you deposit the money into a bank. |
