12/28/2004 B: Kangari salesman
http://cellar.org/2004/kangari.jpg
Since the "A" image turns out to be bogus, here's the "B" image for today. I thought the guy was a hoot, and it turns out his little baskets are even better: An elderly Kashmiri man sells "kangari" (firepot) in Srinagar India, Friday, Dec.10, 2004. Kangari, an earthenware brazier containing burning charcoal, is used for personal warming during the winter months by most of the people in Kashmir valley. Kangari is usually held close to the lower abdomen or in between the legs while squatting on the ground. Kind of warms the cockles, doesn't it? |
Are we pretty sure those aren't icicles hanging around his neck? :D

Or, in my case, cut and pasted it...

Fire in a basket? Hmmm....that's cool.
You can see the man's past, present and future in his hands. But his face says he accepts it. |

Well it is the mountain but the supposed rock looping out of the crater was really two icicles on the camera. :3_eyes:

That is entirely too funny.
I, for one, didn't question it at all - it looked like what the caption claimed. There was a tiny thought in the back of my head wondering if that's really what we should expect from a volcano, but then it shut up, and I stopped thinking. Hm. Yeah. Maybe I should pick that up again. . . thinking, I mean. /going away now. K, thanks, bye. :p |
