Good news from Iraq

The good news from Iraq

It is non-partisan, I hope, to want to see Iraq resolve itself into a free, safe and productive state.

Good reading UT, thanks.

On a side note- The Marine I've been writing to in Faluja says, they're being pulled out in a couple weeks. They're headed stateside, but he volunteered to go to Afghanistan instead. I don't know if just the medical units are going, to replace the Doctors Without Borders, or they want volunteers to replace troops being rotated out. Could be a pre-election (theirs, not ours) buildup of strength.

Always interesting to read stuff like that, considering that the media tends to ignore it.

Iraq Prospects Bleak

Congress approved the $18.4 billion in November as part of an $87 billion package mostly for military operations in Iraq and Afghanistan. At the time, administration officials said the reconstruction money was just as important as the military funds. But only $1.14 billion had been spent as of September 8.

It sure could be a lot better, over there. ...and speaking of Afghanistan, did we just simply start ignoring that country or is the media not reporting on it because Iraq is currently in the spotlight?
