guns and mental health

i couldn't help but think of wolf while watching tv last night. i know it is an old movie, but i finally got around to watching Gothika last night. i love the line "you can't trust someone who thinks you're crazy" isn't that the story of my life? i had heard it was a pretty crummy movie but i liked it. not as good as Stir of Echoes but still good.

I haven't seen Gothika. The fact that you describe that as an "old movie" is somewhat disturbing ... that came out somewhat recently, didn't it? Old movies are ones made before ... hmm. Guess the number has been revised upward, but I'll say about 1980 ... (My previous benchmark had been 1970 ... remember the days when that's what defined a movie that would be shown on American Movie Classics? Back before they put commercials in the movies?)

Oh, and other than immediately attracting my attention, what does this movie have to do with guns and mental health ...

it is about a prison shrink who ends up in her own prison for murdering her husband. as far as the general plot goes, it is similar to Stir of Echoes and their guns involved with the ending.

you're right, i should not have called it an "old movie" but it is older than most movies discussed in this forum. i think it came out about8-9 months ago.

Its worth renting at Blockbuster. I saw it last Dec at the theatre and liked it even tho the plot elements were all borrowed. They did a good job of making the story interesting and hard to guess what was going to happen next or what was really going on. Most of the movie takes place inside a mental hospital and I think they did a good job of confusing reality with delusion (not unlike the delimma of the main character).

I liked the ending but won't spoil it.

oh, come on beestie, when they electrocuted the fish it was awesome, and when they decapitated the farmer's daughter right before the last scene... and that is when the velociraptor showed up, that ruled!
