Rescue Me

I hope that someone other than me watched this show ... I would like to see it last for a while.

It's probably too real for most viewers, but seems to have been done absolutely right from the standpoint of "people who have been there."

The show is very directly addressing a lot of the issues related to stress ... PTSD, flashbacks, divorce, alcoholism, the whole shebang.

I nearly fell over myself laughing at the "shrink comes to the house" scene ... because that's how emergency services folks really react!

There seems to be one more chance to catch the premiere episode ... Monday 7/26/04 at 2230 hrs ET.

Regular episodes run Wednesday at 2200 ET.

The first episode ran commercial free. This may be the plan for the rest of the series as well, if I heard the info on the trailer correctly. It's a lot more effective than breaking the show into 12 minute chunks separated by beer ads (Miller Beer is the major sponsor).

Dennis Leary's first cousin was one of the men lost in the Worcester Cold Storage fire, and he was friends with another of the firefighters lost that day. He formed the Leary Firefighters Foundation in response to that tragedy. Money raised has improved training facilities and equipment for several MA departments, and a communications truck was donated to the NYFD after 9-11.

i saw part of it last night and it looked really good. i hope it works. 3rd watch was really good in the beginning too, then it just sucked big ones.

i can't get over dennis leary though. i really like him, but my kid has been watching Ice Age a bunch, so i keep picturing a sabre-tooth tiger when i hear his voice.
