Let Nader Debate!

There will be three televised debates this fall, and right now only Bush and Kerry will be allowed to participate. Without Ralph Nader's inclusion, the critical issues facing our country—including the war in Iraq—will not be fully discussed.

In the NPR sponsored debate between Dean and Nader, Dean argued that in a choice between Kerry and Bush, the better choice is Kerry. This might be true if they are the only choices. But they aren't. Nader's candidacy is a tool to build a potent independent movement. Dean said when the house is on fire, it's not the time to fix the furniture. True enough. But if your house
has been on fire for a generation, it's time to build a new house.

A new campaign—www.letnaderdebate.org —has formed to insist that Nader be allowed to debate. Democrats, Republicans and Independents who favor democracy over partisanship are signing an open letter to President Bush asking him to use his political clout to ensure that Nader is included. Please sign the letter today at www.letnaderdebate.org and ask everyone you know to do so also!

Thanks.
Gwen

While in theory I agree, nader is an ass.

xoxoxoBruce 07-17-2004 04:40 AM

Bullshit. It sounds good in theory, but this is not the election to wasting your vote on trying to change the system. There is simply too much at stake this time, to be trying to send the politions that kind of message. They just won't hear it and I doubt if even the political analysts would hear it, this year. :yeldead:

Oh,...and like Jag said,...Nader's an ass. :p

Griff 07-17-2004 07:57 AM

...and the Libertarians apparently nominated a complete idiot so there is nobody pulling a couple % points from the greater of two evils. Is it possible that Nader would help Kerry by addressing Bush's idiocy for him? Crap, what an awful awful system we've evolved into.

Clodfobble 07-17-2004 09:28 AM

I wonder if the Libertarians did that on purpose? That would be interesting.

jaguar 07-17-2004 09:33 AM

I doubt it, they aren't exactly bush fans, they just have wacky ideas.

elSicomoro 07-17-2004 11:26 AM

Jag, would you like a Radar-like lashing from me, or would you prefer to wait until Radar sees your remarks?

jaguar 07-17-2004 11:33 AM

I'm sure you've got the style down pat but Radar has a certain...charm to his vitrol that you might have trouble emulating, I'll wait for the real thing.

Go Nader, Go!

Run Nader, Run!

Anyone know how I can contribute to his campaign?

Piss on your money and throw it in a dumpster. It will be just as effective.

jaguar 07-17-2004 01:41 PM

That got a giggle wolf.
A good 3rd party would be great, a good old splintering up the US major parties would be fantastic but Nadar is a self serving ass who just likes to stip up shit without achieving anything for it, I mean come on, slave reparations?

I didn't say I wanted him to win, I said I wanted him to run ...

Wolf's message still applies. :)

wolf 07-17-2004 02:00 PM

I frankly would prefer a candidate that would be more effective at drawing the left's vote away from Kerry ...

smoothmoniker 07-17-2004 03:43 PM

maybe we should talk Dean into running as an indie ...
