With a heavy heart...
On August 15, 1999, I packed up a 14-foot U-haul truck and left St. Louis for Baltimore. It was an attempt to start a new life...my "grown-up" life after graduating from college.
After a dismal year in Washington, DC, Rhoda and I moved to Philadelphia on September 29, 2000 to seek a better home. I have grown particularly fond of this beloved city. Unfortunately, 2 years later, and $12,000 poorer, my East Coast life will end at the end of January. Due to unusual and sad circumstances, I will be leaving Philadelphia and moving back to St. Louis. I am by no means looking forward to going home...the only place I hate more than St. Louis is Washington, DC. But from a practical perspective, it is the rational, and right thing to do. I will terribly miss Philadelphia and the ocean; however, I will remain on the Cellar and post faithfully. Hell, maybe I can finally meet dynamo (since he lives there). |
Or maybe not...
Maybe God heard me or something...maybe he knew that I had no desire to move back home to St. Louis. Maybe he knew that I wanted to stay with Rho.
I'm staying put in Philadelphia. :) |
Yay!

I get the feeling you web brower history would be a very, very scary place Hubris Boy....
|
I'm telling you, he's spent way too much time at Baltimore Harbor...probably over by the Domino plant. Shit, it makes me worry about my in-laws in Woodlawn.
(Incidentally Hubris, I'll be in Baltimore Thanksgiving week. Perhaps we can meet for a pint or two?) |
I've heard about DDT in the water but....
Now every time i see another hello kitty piece of merchandise (every 2.5 seconds on average in the city) i think of cellar... |
why were you going to leave?
hey, since you're gonna be in baltimore... i'll be in taylorsville, near eldersburg/mount airy/westminster... i don't drink alcohol, but we could meet up for some chocolate milk or root beer or something :) |

'tis never best to leave the woman. Well, not if you want to be with her, anyway. But it's cool that it worked out.
Finances are always a hard thing. I'm just glad that mine are good, and I have enough money that I can buy a new computer every few months and it's all good. Jenni doesn't make nearly as much as I do, though, and she gets worried because she's going to school as well and her car was seeming to have something wrong with it every paycheck (though it seems alright now). I just told her to chill out, that we'd make it through. I guess that's the best way to look at everything. It's what I do. Just remember: this day too shall pass. Things have a tendency to work themselves out, and it'll be okay. |
Yeah, things are panning out alright...now if I could just find a new job. Sorry I didn't send my cell #...completely forgot. D'oh!
