I have a few LaCie drives, found them to be utterly excellent.

Yeah, that's a pretty big disk.

But these disks are bigger.

A few LaCie drives?

How much disk space do you have?

3x160GB FA Porche model.

The 2 are backup, one get done daily, the other gets done every few weeks and deposited in a bank vault. The other gets used as a fatass scratch disc for various things, a drive half it's size would have done the job but since it was easier and about the same price to get them all together.

Laptop only has 60GB, I keep regularly used data on there, that plus software and it's constantly close to full.

In retrospect I should have got one of the ultra-durable datavault drives but they're limited to 80GB.

I should point out I'm anal retentive for a reason - I've had two laptop HDDs die on me hard and lost a lot of data on two occasions, after the second I wanted to make sure it never happened again. Pretty much everything I did and am not doing is digital, if I loose all my data it's literally years of work gone and as time goes on it only gets more essential.
