Fun in Texas
On the way, there was this cool-ass car being trailered:

So did I: <img src="http://www.myrefrigerator.com/images/Ranch/car4.jpg"> This kind of says it all: <img src="http://www.myrefrigerator.com/images/Ranch/this%20is%20texas%20car2.jpg"> Fred's favorite BBQ shack on the way to the farm. It is good: <img src="http://www.myrefrigerator.com/images/Ranch/joels.jpg"> The ancient pit at Joel's: <img src="http://www.myrefrigerator.com/images/Ranch/da%20pit.jpg"> Apparently there is some controversy about which Joel's in the area is the true king of BBQ. So far, no weapons are involved. Unfortunately, there seem to be lawyers in the picture. I'll leave it to you to decide who will ultimately win (hint: it won't be either Joel). <img src="http://www.myrefrigerator.com/images/Ranch/small%20town%20justice.jpg"> Words to live by: <img src="http://www.myrefrigerator.com/images/Ranch/words%20to%20live%20by.jpg"> Multitasking. I'll present this with no comment: <img src="http://www.myrefrigerator.com/images/Ranch/multitasking.jpg"> A rebus for you. These are supposedly for kids, but I don't know. Seems kinda kinky to me:

I've never seen one with this low of an arch: <img src="http://www.myrefrigerator.com/images/Ranch/low%20arch%20rainbow.jpg"> The hearth on the farmhouse. Notice the antique rifle: <img src="http://www.myrefrigerator.com/images/Ranch/hearth.jpg"> A close up view of the 1878 Springfield, with unfortunate model: <img src="http://www.myrefrigerator.com/images/Ranch/1878%20springfield.jpg"> My best shot of the trip. It is being entered at DPChallenge.com as my entry for the month. I call it 'Catching a Buzz": <img src="http://www.myrefrigerator.com/images/Ranch/catching%20a%20buzz.jpg"> At the local Wal-Mart, they sell paint. The name must have inspired the killer instinct in us: <img src="http://www.myrefrigerator.com/images/Ranch/kilz.jpg"> "Houston, we have a problem!": <img src="http://www.myrefrigerator.com/images/Ranch/half%20undone%20pickup.jpg"> According to references, the types of points were made on-site around 3000 BCE. Fred found them after a recent hard rain. It just goes to show you we Texans have radically upgraded our armaments in the past 5000 years: <img src="http://www.myrefrigerator.com/images/Ranch/weapons%20tech%20upgrade.jpg"> Lock and load: <img src="http://www.myrefrigerator.com/images/Ranch/on%20safari.jpg"> My first shot with the new rifle: <img src="http://www.myrefrigerator.com/images/Ranch/mini14.jpg"> The SS Heineken in sight: <img src="http://www.myrefrigerator.com/images/Ranch/target%20in%20sight.jpg"> The Heineken is sunk on the first volley: <img src="http://www.myrefrigerator.com/images/Ranch/ss%20heineken.jpg"> Then I took out all the survivors: <img src="http://www.myrefrigerator.com/images/Ranch/aquatic%20assault.jpg"> This is S.O.L. edit: yeah, we had a blast, only problem is that now there's work to be done when things dry out. we lost 3 grafted pecan trees and about 50 feet of land to the Guadalupe river and amassed a ton of river trash in our pecan orchard. |

:shotgun: :shotgun: :shotgun: That 1878 springfield looks to be an artillery model , long barrel and tangent sights . One of those was supposed to be passed down to me but their was a convveniont burgerly , they took the WW1 mausers(2) as well . |
