The rename Blue58 POLL

Hi folks,

One of the worst weeks of my life here, long story. Been away for a little while. LJ wants to rename me, so in honor of his 3000th and my 500th...I will.

Rules: On or before June 5 I will take my new name. I'll try a poll, will go by the name you cellarites choose. This post you are reading will be the last under blue58.

UT, can you check this poll sometime on the fourth and do your magic? PM me how to log on after and make sure you give me rights to CMEP.

I intended this to be more upbeat, but what a crappy day I'll be reborn on Saturday. Thanks for the wonderful suggestions..I'm going with an old but new, somewhat juvenile, wtf, and coolness choices.

I'm a little apprehensive, but will go by your vote. Vote wisely. My identity is in your hands.

Ba, bye...blue58

this is going to sound really gay, but I had a dream last night that you decided to change your name to "\blue" I don;t know what the signifigance of the backslash is, but I liked it. I voted for blue, too......after all that fuss, it just seems like you. I can;t see calling you spanky.

hey, maybe you could post all of your posts in BLUE

OnyxCougar 05-30-2004 12:05 PM

I'm used to thinking of you as blue, so I voted blue. But I advise against posting in a specific color. It gets you an awful lot of flak.

mmmmmmmmmmmm............flack

I don't know why,but for some reason this expression bothers me.And I see it more and more.It shouldn't,but it does.Do we have to belittle people because of their sexualityAnd I'm not gay either.

Absolutely...and b/c of their race, ethnicity, SES, habits, etc.

Everyone should strive to be an Equal Opportunity Offender.

No one gets a free pass.

i didn't mean gay as in ..this will make me look like i like to have sex with men. I meant gay as in..... gay.

I thought you were recently divorced from a woman anyway. or are you just sticking up for the populous of homosexual users in here? remember, before gay meant Gay, it meant gay.

xoxoxoBruce 05-31-2004 08:42 AM

Your right, FFH. What he should have said(wrote) was;
This is going to sound really gay, not that there's anything wrong with that, blah blah blah blah.:)

Besides, if someone is allowed to declare they are homosexual without repercussions, shouldn't the the same courtesy be afforded to hetrosexuals? ;)

You have a good memory. Although I am not gay,my wife is. She left me for her internet lover. Completely across the whole country. She pretty much destroyed my life. So you would think that if anything I would be right on the gay-bashing bandwagon. But I just can't make myself think that way.And I do have to say that I doubt you meant that word in its original context. I could be wrong, but I think that peoples use of that word has been changed forever.

lumberjim 05-31-2004 10:18 PM

no, you're right, i wasn't saying gay as in happy.....just that i didnt mean homosexual.

Oh you're right, but I don't like it. Gay was a great word that had a meaning all it's own. I can't find another word that quite replaces it.:(
