K-9 Anti-terrierist training
I spent my weekend fucking with dogs. I love dogs.
This picture is my poster pup for 'Don't fuck with me!': <img src="http://www.myrefrigerator.com/images/PosterPup.jpg"> This movie is of the first lesson I am giving my own dog on how to grab a rag and never let go: <a href="http://www.myrefrigerator.com/images/GrabRag.MOV">Holding on</a> |

Bruce, your dog is like a Great White. My dogs are more like Pirahnas.
Which way would you rather go down? |

That is THE most GORGEOUS dog I've seen for a long time. What kind is s/he? I don't think I've ever seen such a beautiful shade of pewter on a doggie ever. |
Is that a weimeraner? If it is its a beaut! Mostly they look skinnier than that.

The tail has to be bobbed because they have fucked up tails.
He's not mine, but yes he was neutered, as any responsible dog owner would spay or neuter their pet. Unless you're a dog breeder, their is no reason to jeopardize your pets health by not doing so.:p |

I know that most tail bobbing is due to AKC breed standards - and they're generally because the tails have 'weaknesses' that may harm the dog down the way.
I have a schnauzer, and their tails are bobbed on their 3rd day of life. She wags her stubbie with great gusto - and it's adorable to watch her wag her whole rump. |
I don't think the "weakness" reason really holds. I know boxers, schnauzers, dobermanns, spaniels with undocked tails and they do just fine. In the UK it's "considered unethical" by the British Vet Associations... and vets are the only ones allowed to dock so you see far more longer tails here.
Gorgeous dog though... :) |
Can't swear to the tail thing, second hand info. The ears not being cut precludes showing because of what Dagney was saying about the AKC. The owner of the bitch didn't want to sell to anyone except for a pet. Doesn't believe in ear cutting and feels show dogs spend to much time caged. With show puppies of this breed going from $1800 up to $2600 or more for a blue like this, that's a pretty noble stand. He sold this pup for $400 because he believed the people that bought it felt the same way he does.:)
We kinda hijacked NBN's thread, sorry man. |
Bravo was quite a hit at work today. I work with LOTS of doggie lovers, and when they saw him, they all went...Awwwww can I have one too! I think it's the expression on his most adorable face.
