While I'm not without some sympathy for the Palestinian cause, I will note that they'd have a much larger chance of getting even a smidgen of the rest of the world's support if they'd STOP DOING MINDBOGGLINGLY STUPID SHIT LIKE THIS.

I don't have a shred of sympathy for the Palestinians anymore. Their lust for blood and death will never be sated. Nothing less than the entire acreage of Israel, Jew-free, complete with running water, electricity, and free HBO will mollify them; even then, it will only be a matter of time before another jihad comes into vogue.

People who strap bombs to their children (volunteer or not) and send them into civilian areas to deliberately kill the innocent are evil. I don't care if they got a raw real estate deal, they're just sick -- all of them. And you can call me Nazi if you want, I think this evil is on its way to becoming part of the genetic makeup of these people. I don't know if that's possible or not, but it sure as hell looks that way.

I really wish people would stop calling that kid a "child." Yes, he looked like a child, which is what made him so appealing for the job, but he was 16. You know, the same age as the kids in Columbine, and plenty of skinheads in this country, and lots of other really fucked up kids.

They did not trick him into carrying the bomb, he chose to do it. Yes, someone took advantage of the fact that teenagers are very easily manipulated, especially with anger, but are you seriously suggesting that there aren't people like that in this, or any, country? You don't think the leaders of the Neo-nazi movement across the US and Europe are taking advantage of the anger of the young men they recruit to get them to commit murder while they keep their hands clean? How is that any different?

Every country has evil. I agree that it's all evil in the end, but you can't ignore the teenagers' choices in the matter.

Have any of you stopped to wonder why there were TV cameras at this particular checkpoint?
Have any of you stopped to think why, with so many willing suicide bombers, that an educationally sub-normal teenager would be picked?

First, I do have to agree with codfobble, I've met a few 'child' soldiers, tis wise not to judge someone by their age. The kid wasn't 5, i was capable of making rational decisions at 16.

I wish some of you people would take to a real live Palestinian, most of them are rational, sane people who just want to get on with their lives without their houses being demolished or used as bases to launch mortars. Because of how godawful conditions there have got, that extremist fringe has come to the forefront. You don't see a headline saying 'Palestinian farmer just wants to get on with his life' do you.

There is a chance I'll be going there, camera in hand later this year, maybe, just maybe I can put together a good compilation of what life is like on the ground, for everybody.

There's no need for conspiracy theories. The Israelis new he was coming. As to the other, I think it much more likely that a slow Palestinian boy would play into the hands of Hamas than he would go along with some Israeli subterfuge.
