Hot Pastrami's Cellar-related art

I don't know if I'd call them "Quality" images in this thread...

I need some practice with my computer drawing tablet. So, here's my first installment in a little experiment... when I get a few spare minutes, I plan to draw pictures based on the title of some arbitrarily-selected semi-recent Cellar thread. The picture may reflect the goings-on in the thread's discussion, or may just borrow the title as a basis for the drawing.

I know this could have fit under Jimbo's "Cellar Comics Collection" thread, but I didn't want to hijack his too badly. Plus, not all of mine will necessarily qualify as "comics," because they won't all attempt to be humorous. In fact, the first one is just such a non-humorous drawing:

Ok, I'll cheat and call my recently posted drawing another one of the series, since it's a similar idea:

Damn Jimbo, that's just downright silly. I don't think I'm managing to make you look bad... you produce some mighty fine drawings. Some of yours are better than mine. You and your artificial, pasteurized, cheese-flavored modesty.

please. I don't have a modest bone in my body.....well, just that one, and it's not really a bone....usually......anyway, where was i?...
oh, yeah. Please.

yeah..that's it, i guess.

EXEALANT HP !!!!!

xoxoxoBruce 03-09-2004 07:54 PM

I'm having trouble imagining doing that with a mouse. The out lining is beyond me, but the shading, the moving board, and the humor are ....... can't find a superlative fitting enough.
Fucking great, HP.:thumb:

his drawings have a certain "beavis and butthead" quality to them. i don;t mean that as a joke. There's something about them that reminds me of beavis and butthead. Are you a big fan, hp?

i think it's those shaky lines.

elSicomoro 03-09-2004 08:22 PM

There are no shaky lines...you must be going through smack withdrawal again...

Reminds me more of "Home Movies," on Cartoon Network in the late evenings during their Adult Swim block. Ever seen it?

Can't say that I'm a Beavis and Butthead fan. Don't get me wrong, I like crude humor as much as the next guy, but B&B just never did it for me. It's kinda like South Park.. they're trying so hard to be crude and in-you-face that it's just noise. But maybe that's just me.

The style is a result of drawing quickly, I think. I haven't been spending time to polish these, just kinda doodling. At least I'm getting to the point where the little stylus for the graphics tablet doesn't cramp my hand into a curled up old-man claw anymore.

Haven't seen it.... But I'm not really a TV kind of guy. Television and I had a falling out years ago, and the relationship never recovered.
