How do YOU define it?

Over the course of my life, I've heard many different people give many different definitons of love, so I'm asking YOU. What's YOUR definition of love? Now, I don't want to hear, "love means different things to different people." I realize that. What I'm curious about is what it means to you. (I'm referring to "romantic love," not the love you have for yer mama ;) )

And while we're at it, for those of you in relationships, if you had to assign a single song to describe your S.O., what would it be? (I'm not asking what "your song" is, but one that you would use to describe them)

People-watching on the web...it's not as easy as it sounds....

I'd define romantic love as "caring about the other person more than you care about yourself."

A song? Hmm...I'd have to think about that one and get back to you.

Allow me the honor...

Love is:

You never have to say you're sorry.

/runs away, and fast

Or maybe it means not ever doing anything bad enough to HAVE to say you're sorry?

Uh...I say sorry...perth does too...I think love has something to do with being ABLE to say you're sorry. :)

Mine is close to Sidhe's but not quite: you care about them because they are a part of you. I don't believe you can possibly care about them more than yourself, or should; but you define yourself differently, as a part of a bonded pair.

I'd define almost any kind of love the same way -

Love for a friend
Love for a country
Love for family:lovers:

I'm with UT.

Though it's both wise and dangerous to start dividing up definitions here I think I will.

I love my best friend, in some ways like a sister.
I'm not in love with her.

There is a distinction there to be made that is worth making.

i define love as caring about the other person's happiness and well being as much as you care about your own. not more, because that seems a little unhealthy...a song that reminds me of my significant other? your love is like a roller coster- red hot chili peppers

I'd say that love doesn't hurt...physically, mentally, emotionally. That means NO games, NO infidelityl, NO abuse of ANY kind.

Wow, that's actually a tough one. For some reason, the first thing that came to mind was "Crazy" by Patsy Kline. (LOL) I have NO earthly idea why...:D

It's like hate, only different.:blunt:
