from the NY Times of 6 Feb 2004 entitled "Love That Dare Not Squeak Its Name"
Roy and Silo, two chinstrap penguins at the Central Park Zoo in Manhattan, are completely devoted to each other. For nearly six years now, they have been inseparable. They exhibit what in penguin parlance is called "ecstatic behavior": that is, they entwine their necks, they vocalize ...

Ha, ha, ha, what agreat article TW. I just found your post while looking for something else. Missed it the first time. Bet they tried to keep Bush from seeing it too.:haha:

Bush doesn't read the papers in the morning, though I'm sure someone informs him of the goings-on in the Wash. Post and NY Times.

For those who don't want to buy the article and did not read it when the article was free - the penguins are gay. Being gay is normally found in all species or at least identified in at least 450 species - a number that will only increase. But again, don't tell the current president. Those gay penguin as a very popular exhibit in NYC as they try to hatch a rock.

Extremist among us will say how stupid gay penguins are. Therefore they need not admit that homosexual and lesbian behavior is a normal fact of life.

I seem to remember that they were actually given an egg from a female that didn't know how/want to hatch it properly. The gay pair hatched a perfectly happy, normal penguin baby. Awwww.... :)

When someone says, "Go squat on a rock",
then is he calling you gay - or just complementing you on being a tend setter?
