Cellar, Big Thought of the Day

Sometimes folks say stuff here that should be pondered and bounced off other things out of their original context. So why not a free form big thought thread?

And computer drawings that somebody put into the computer in the form of a bunch of parameters, a bunch of lifeless numbers. The result is a complacency that the computer will do the right thing. It does, but it has no practiced eye, no gut feeling and no ability to say "something doesn't look right". Garbage in, garbage out.
In the ever quickening pace to the improve the coveted bottom line, the errors become annoying, often expensive and in some cases tragic.

You don't have the right not to be offended. You have the ability.

Bruce's post has a lot to do with my reservations about a manned mission to Mars.

Just seems like things have gotten so complicated that no one can wrap their arms around anything anymore. That makes me nervous as I'm not sure, in that scenario, who's in charge.

The person in charge is James Brown.

When do you choose or even notice the slow technology of hands? I crave it. I think my own sanity (or attempt) is fed when I find evidence of this love made visible.
